Omakase Prices in Melbourne: What A$195 Covers at Rōnin

Omakase prices in Melbourne are rarely written down in one place, which makes the first question people ask, how much is it, oddly hard to answer. This page answers it for Rōnin exactly and for the rest of the city as published in 2026.

Rōnin is A$195 per guest. That is the price every night we open, Wednesday to Saturday, and it is paid in full when you book.

INCLUDED

What the Price Covers

About ten courses decided by the chef on the day, served over roughly two hours at the ten seat counter. Banchan, raw and cured courses seasoned with jang, charcoal cooked courses, a noodle or rice course and dessert. The chef’s commentary comes free.

NOT INCLUDED

What You Pay on Top

Drinks. They are ordered on the night and added to the bill, and Korean whisky has appeared on the counter, as Broadsheet reported. There is no fixed pairing. BYO is not available, so there is no corkage either.

PAYMENT

Prepaid, and Why

Payment is taken at booking through OpenTable. A ten seat room cannot absorb a no-show, so prepayment is what keeps the price at A$195 rather than higher. You can modify or cancel for a full refund up to 48 hours before the sitting. After that the payment is forfeited, and modifications inside 48 hours may be too.

THE CITY

How A$195 Compares

Published 2026 prices from the restaurants and from the Broadsheet and Concrete Playground guides: Kisumé Chef’s Table A$195 dinner and A$165 lunch, Akaiito A$198, Aoi Tsuki about A$235, Sushi On about A$245, Yakikami A$285, Minamishima A$295. Signature tasting menus in the CBD towers go past A$300. How to choose between them is the companion page. Check each venue, prices move.

CHEAPER OPTIONS

Affordable Omakase in Melbourne

If A$195 is above budget, lunch sittings at some counters and nigiri-only menus in the suburbs come in lower. Rōnin does not run a lunch or a short menu, so our price is the price. We would rather you book the counter that fits than stretch for ours.
